About Resistograph Testing
We administer visual, sound & resistograph testing in timber piles to help find interior decay and assess the strength of timber piles.
Resistograph testing provides precision testing in specific locations addressed in a timber pile report.
A specialized 1/10 inch drill bit is drilled through the pile. When the drill bit has no resistance, it flat-lines on the chart, meaning interior decay has been found.

About Nate Mehring of Linke Coastal Construction LLC
Nate Mehring is a Malibu native and lifelong waterman whose deep connection to the ocean informs his coastal construction work. He began his career in seawall and pile construction a decade ago, under the mentorship of coastal construction expert, Stewart Kriegstein of Pacific Shoreline.
With years of hands-on experience, Nate has also contributed to advancing industry standards, helping develop a patented column jacket that delivers stronger, more efficient pile repair solutions. His expertise combines a lifetime of working with wood, fiberglass, and resin with an intimate understanding of ocean dynamics.
Born-and-raised in Malibu, Nate is committed to serving his community. Having lost and rebuilt his childhood home in the aftermath of the Woolsey Fire, he brings professional and personal understanding to clients facing similar challenges.
